I had started my preparation in July 2017, during the summer training period, when I saw most of the students were preparing for GATE exam. After knowing the benefits of GATE exam, from many of my friends, I too started preparing for it.
My first reaction
I was really on 9th cloud at that time feeling that can never be expressed. The credit for my goes success goes firstly to my parents, my divine masters, my seniors and my juniors who helped me a lot.
I didn’t join any coaching institute but I have learnt a lot of concept through Youtube. On Youtube, “Agricultural gate online” channel helped me a lot to clear maximum concept, for this I am really thankful to Piyush Mishra and Abhay Agrawal sir.
A. Study schedule:
Till January I followed a normal routine studying for about 4 hours a day, but in January I accelerated my schedule time to 9-10hrs.
B. Strong and weak subjects (How did I prepare them?)
Firstly I focused on subjects like Farm Machinery, Process Engineering and Soil and Water conservation Engineering.
Books and e-sources
- A numerical approach of agricultural engineering by Sanjay kumar
- Gate digest by Sanjay kumar
- Fundamental of Agricultural engineering by M.S. Supe and M.U. Kale
For it I again prepared through Youtube only. Various aptitude problems are uploaded on Youtube.
Yes, I attended mock tests available on GATE website only and I think it’s necessary because GATE is a online exam and there’s a different calculator available so practice is necessary.
I focused mainly on 2 marks questions especially Maths. I solved all that questions by taking time. I didn’t attempt more objective question about that I am not sure.
Sorry, I have not yet started preparing for interviews.
I wanna do M.tech in Geo Informatics and Natural resources engineering (GNRE).
Advice to fellow students
I just wanna say that use your time by clearing all the concepts and then practice it by solving various numerical related to that.
