Rank: 35, Batch: Nov2014
Place: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
My first reaction
I was quite overwhelmed after looking at the results. Credit would go firstly to the almighty and then to my parents.
I did my internship from Shah&Shah Associates Ahmedabad. While working you get to understand the nitty gritties of various subjects which is not possible with only theoretical reading and that indeed helps in answering practical questions.
Coaching Institute for a few practical subjects like Accounts and Costing helps. However the essence lies in the self-study. I had set a strategy of preparing in 4.5 months with 9hrs of study every day.
a. Study schedule:
Practical Papers in the morning and one theory in the evening. Along with studies taking proper rest and nutritious food is something very important.
b. Strong and weak subjects (How did I prepared them?):
SFM was my strongest subject and Audit being the weak. I tried reading and grasping audit chapters aligning it with practical applications.
Books and e-sources
ICAI Practice Manuals
I attempted ICAI Mock Tests. It is necessary, as it gives you that right confidence in an exam simulated condition.
Rank and preparation
My priority was clearing it with a good score. Rank is always a bonus and to achieve that consistency and perseverance is the key.
I want to enter the Corporate World.
Getting acquainted with current happenings and grooming on personality front.
Advice to fellow students
Stay confident and put in as many hours as possible in the last few months. Revise, Revise & Revise. Be a warrior and not a worrier!
