Rank: 39, Batch: Nov 2015
My first reaction
I was ecstatic on seeing my results and realized that hard work and sincere effort is always rewarded. I would attribute my success to my faculty and family. My parents have been extremely supportive and encouraging in the past four years.
I am undergoing articleship training at Deloitte Haskins & Sells, Chennai. It has been an enriching learning experience and you realize how to apply the theory you read. That gives a better understanding holistically.
I attended coaching classes as it helped me to get familiar with the concepts and interact with our faculty on any clarifications. My faculty always inspired me to push myself and go that extra mile.
A. Study schedule:
I ensured that my classed were completed about six months before the exams so that it would give me the time to study all the subjects. During the few months, I wrote down a schedule outlining the topics I wanted to cover weekly and tried to stick to it.
B. Strong and weak subjects (How did I prepared them?)
In my opinion, on revising the subjects periodically and staying in touch with the concepts helps.
Books and e-sources
Classroom notes for understanding and any publication as all books have good content, it’s just how well we read them.
I did take up mock tests as it helps you evaluate your preparation periodically. Also, it simulates the exam environment especially when there’s a long gap between IPCC and Final exams.
Rank and preparation
Having secured a rank in IPCC, everybody around me was talking about a rank in Final. However, I did not want this to come in the way of my preparation. It is important to focus on the effort and not the result.
I want to take some time and think over my future.
Keeping up with the preparation already done for Final exams and refreshing on the articleship experience.
Advice to fellow students
I’d like to say that the course is definitely not difficult, if you put in the right effort. Be sincere in your preparation and success is always yours!
