Avinash Sancheti - AIR 3 CA Final Novmber 2015 - Kolkatta, West Bengal
Avinash Sancheti

I am from a jaini Hindu family of Rajasthan momasar and living in Kolkata for last 20 years. I have completed my secondary education from Gyan Bharati Vidyalaya and HS from St Lawrence high school. I am a commerce graduate from St Xavier’s college Kolkata. My father is a Cost accountant and working for Osatwal group’s Finance business and also a businessman and my mother is a home maker. We are three brothers. Elder brother is a CA in practise since last 3 years. My younger brother is pursuing CA final.

The reason of entering into CA were lack of idea about other fields of commerce and CA is yet the most preferred course in this line.

My first reaction

On the result day morning, when you are sitting in front of your PC and refreshing the result page and a call comes saying “Hello Avinash! This is the president of ICAI and you secured AIR 3”, the experience was both thrilling and exciting. I shouted in joy that I did it. Credit goes to my family, my late grandfather, my teachers, my friends and everyone who helped me in anyway.

I did my articleship from Sancheti Baid and Co. My elder brothers firm. From the scratch till exams I have been working there and when you are the first one to do everything you learn everything minutely and precisely. This what helped me in studies too.

I started preparing for CA finals after six months of IPCC when I joined my first ttn of SFM. I was regular with studies. For final preparations I started from Aug 15 and then studied in full pace.

A. Study schedule:

I used to study 2-3 subjects daily. I used to make plans on that basis. For theory subjects I used to spread my study timing for 15-20 days and 3-4 hrs daily instead of 5 days continuous.

B. Strong and weak subjects (How did I prepared them?)

My weak subject were – audit and ISCA.

Books and e-sources

Institutes practice manual rtps and mock test papers.

Mock tests

I solved all mock test papers and last 5 terms paper at home by keeping time on stop watch. They were 200% helpful in the way that they helped me to know my preparation and time management.

Rank and preparation

I was preparing for 560 and my rank dependent upon the performance of fellow friends on which I don’t have control.

ICAI Campus

I didn’t appeared for campus.

Future Plans

I am into CA CPT teaching now and will continue as a teacher for professional courses and also I will be pursuing IFRS course.

Advice to fellow students

Learn unlearn relearn the mantra of success will help you in your CA journey. All the best keep smiling and be happy. CA is just a part of life and not life don’t be depressed go ahead.
