I am a B. Com. graduate from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. I had secured 10th Rank in CPT and 47th Rank in CA Final. My dad recently retired from his job in a pvt. company and my mum is a Homemaker. My sister is pursuing her masters degree.

My first reaction

I was really happy and excited after seeing my results. The happiness and pride in my parent’s voice felt like a dream come true!

I am currently doing my articleship at Deloitte. My colleagues and seniors have always been very supporting and encouraging. In addition to the learning and the experience that I have gained in the varied fields of chartered accountancy, articleship also helped me to better understand and strengthen my concepts.

I had joined a renowned coaching institute. However, I do believe that if you have faith in yourself and are disciplined and dedicated then self study is enough.

I took 4 months leave from office, which is enough time. I tried to keep myself updated with what was being taught in my coaching institute. I studied for around 12-15 hours per day with 6-8 hours of sleep. Sleep SHOULD be an essential part of your planning.

I allotted almost equal number of hours to each subject. For all practical subjects, referring to the Practice Manuals is imperative.

Mock tests

I attended the tests that were conducted by my coaching institute, even though if I never felt very confident of my preparation for the same. I was told by a senior (and now I also completely agree), that mock tests helps us to think in the correct direction.

Rank and preparation

To be honest, I did prepare for a rank in CA Final. I kept my study momentum going by telling myself only few more days, then you can enjoy, this helps!

It is necessary to be mentally prepared for the exam leave. Tell yourself that this 3-4 months period is the most important phase of your life. And at every point, you must remember to stay positive!

Future Plans

I intend to enter the corporate world. Though I am open to the idea of practice as well, entering the corporate world is where I would like to begin.

ICAI Campus

I have registered for the same.

Advice to fellow students

Be positive and believe in yourself. You have to do this, for all those people who have believed in you!

All the Best!
